Superhero Teacher Appreciation Week!
Celebrating super teachers!
As Teacher Appreciation Week approaches, it's time to grab your capes and celebrate the real-life superheroes in your lives: your teachers. We know teachers spend their days tackling challenges head-on, inspiring minds, and touching hearts along the way. This year, honor your staff with a theme that fits their extraordinary efforts—let's celebrate them as the superheroes they truly are!
Day 1: Fuel your Superpowers Breakfast
Treat your teachers to a breakfast to get their week started. Set up your lounge with superhero party supplies that you can leave up all week. Breakfast can be served on fun superhero trays, and you can have everything set out on a table for a ‘grab and go’ meal. Order biscuits, muffins, or bagels from a local restaurant, add yogurt or fruit, and, of course, coffee, and you are ready to!

Day 2: Superhero Swag Bags
Give each teacher one of these fun colorful bags at the beginning of the day with a note, email, or announcement that they can come “shopping” for swag and fill their bag during a planning period or after school. Have a designated spot for them to shop. You can have tables of pens, pencils, mini notepads, and candy for teachers to fill their bags with. You could also have the bags already filled and call them Superhero Supply Kits, either way, they will love the gesture and the goodies!
Items to fill the bags with:
Day 3: THE POWER OF BOOKS
Show your teachers some love with a book-themed day! You can put these superhero bookmarks in their box or on a table for them to choose from in the lounge. You could also give them a book, like Bashing Boredom, and have a drawing for a gift card to a bookstore so they can grab a book from their summer book list!
Day 4: SUPERHERO STICKERS & SNACK BAR
Set up a bar in your lounge or in a common area where teachers can visit! You can have motivational and superhero stickers for teachers to choose from as a reminder of how hard they work and what they mean to your school community. Then, teachers can fill their superhero snack boxes with all of the goodies you have set out on the snack bar. Think about popcorn, pretzels, cereal, nuts, and dried fruit!

Day 5: ‘SOUP’ER HERO LUNCH
Have a soup lunch for your teachers, whether you have it catered by a local business, your admin team brings in crockpots of their best recipes, or you ask the PTA to volunteer and sign up. You can set up a soup station with all the fixings so staff can enjoy a quick lunch. Depending on your schedule, and availability, think about having your leadership team or parent volunteers cover the lunchroom so teachers can enjoy a duty-free meal. If you want to add dessert to the menu, these cute toppers could make homemade or store-bought cupcakes festive!

Extra Ideas:
-Think about planning a schoolwide superhero spirit day to kick off the week or get it started.
-Have cape cutouts for students to write something nice about their teacher and display them in the front lobby or the cafeteria for everyone to see. (You can find a cape template in the freebie link!)
- Write individual notes to teachers about how much they appreciate them.
