Hawaiian Teacher Appreciation Week

Saying “mahalo” for all our teachers do!

Create a colorful and fun atmosphere to show your staff how thankful you are for them! We all wish we could be on a beach somewhere, relaxing in the sun, sipping on our favorite drink. Since we’re busy growing the minds of children and changing the world, that dream will have to wait. But you can bring that dream to your staff with these fun decorations and ideas that would make your teachers feel like they were one step closer, and even more important—loved!

Day 1: Fill Your Swag Bag

Give each teacher one of these fun colorful bags at the beginning of the day with a note, email or announcement that they can come fill their bag during a planning period or after school. Have a designated spot for them to shop. You can have tables of pens, pencils, notepads, and candy for teachers to fill their bag with. You could also have the bags already filled, but many would love the process and camaraderie of getting to ‘shop’!

Day 2: Boxed Lunch Day

Treat your teachers to a boxed lunch. These cute cardboard boxes will hold their meal, and you can deliver them to their room or have them on a table for a ‘grab and go’ meal.  Order sandwiches from a local restaurant, add chips and a drink, and they are ready to go. We even found some cute napkins to complete the theme!  Teachers will enjoy not having to pack their lunch for a day!

Day 3: Drink Bar

Set up a drink bar for teachers to visit throughout the day.  You can stock the fridge, coolers, or tubs with cold drinks and have coffee available for those that prefer a hot beverage. Teachers can choose a drink, and their gift for the day could be a plastic pineapple or coconut cup. You could even use this palm tree cooler to make things more festive!

Day 4: DIY Journal Day

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Put a journal in each of your teachers boxes with a note, email or announcement to stop by a designated area to decorate their journal.  You can have a table of stickers for them to choose from for decorating.  Teachers can also choose their own colorful journaling pen!
